For 17 years, Deborah has worked closely with National Geographic’s top explorers to uncover insights from their field expeditions and research, to craft inspiring, entertaining stage shows for corporate, student, and public audiences. While living in Washington, DC, in 2003, Deborah co-created and served as director of the National Geographic Speakers Bureau–the repository for this talent and National Geographic Live, the touring speaker series that showcases its top scientists, photographers, filmmakers and journalists. She joined Fox Entertainment in 2000 to facilitate the launch of Nat Geo channel. In her role developing the network brand and enabling distribution, she won a PromaxBDA award for website design, and Nat Geo Channel experienced the fastest growth of any cable channel in history.
In 2015, Deborah joined Hilton & Hyland, where she works closely with Estates Director Marcie Hartley, representing clients and luxury residential properties on the Westside of Los Angeles. Apart from helping people find their dream homes, Deborah’s passions include preserving biodiversity and bringing disadvantaged students access to the outdoors, quality science education, and the arts through a series of creative partnerships. She also still serves National Geographic Partners, by connecting companies, foundations and individuals to the programs and explorers that echo their commitment to the environment and to creating a more sustainable future.
She completed the Graduate Media Management Program at The New School, in Manhattan, and earned her undergraduate degree in Media & Communication Studies from Florida State University, in Tallahassee.
