Chad Rogers Discusses Current Malibu Real Estate Trends

The Los Angeles Times reports Malibu Colony Beach has remained the region’s most expensive real estate neighborhood for the second consecutive year. Hilton & Hyland’s Chad Rogers spoke with the LA Times to lend his expert insight.

Consisting of approximately 120 homes – with half on land and half on the beach, “The Malibu Colony is so special because it’s the only guard-gated community in Malibu where the homes sit so close to the sand,” Chad told The Times.

He continued to say he predicts the Woolsey fire shouldn’t affect the Malibu housing market forecast moving forward. Citing the 1993 fire and the resilience of the community, Chad is hearing similar sentiments being echoed from residents and clients who plan to stay in the community.

“There’s always a price for paradise. In Malibu, the price includes floods, rock slides, earthquakes and fires,” he said.

Last May, Chad represented both the buyer and seller on a $25.395 million Mediterranean-style Malibu home, one of the top sales in the community of 2018.
