Richard Dorman Home Listed and Sold in 24 Hours

Considered one of the master architects of Beverly Hills, there is no questioning that Richard Lee Dorman’s subtle fingerprints can be seen all across Southern California’s most extravagant city.

With his “total design” approach, his projects often focused on a theme of unification, tying in the landscapes, exterior and interior designs. Iconic buildings like the Sepulveda Rose apartment (Venice Beach), the Stone Canyon residence (Bel-Air) and the Los Angeles International Design Center (Beverly Hills) are just a few of the inspirations that continue his legacy.

Just recently, a Richard Dorman home was listed with Hilton & Hyland agent Rona Passman. The property, located on Briar Summit Drive in the Hollywood Hills, was originally designed for Hollywood Actor Beverly Garland.

A zen-inspired courtyard leads into the home, which greets guests with an open floor plan. The living and dining areas facilitate solace while a state-of-the-art screening room gives the home a genuine Hollywood feel.

The Midcentury compound includes a detached guesthouse, 4.5 bathrooms and 3,660 square feet of living space.

Five years ago the house was updated with the help of Los Angeles Architecture firm Padraic Cassidy.

Within just one day of its listing, Ms. Passman was able to connect her client with a buyer, and hand the keys of this historic estate over to just its third owner in 56 years.

“This house has a lot of incredible history unique to the Los Angeles area and it’s not surprising that I was able to help my client find a buyer so quickly after it was first listed. I connected my client with a motivated party that came in a great deal above our asking price, which is really all a listing agent could ask for.”
