Rick and Kathy Hilton Pledge Support in 26th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala

Raising over $1.8 million, The 26th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala honored Selma Blair for her courage and the Hausman Family Foundation for its generous support.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and causes issues with muscle control, vision, and balance. Drawing 970 of Hollywood’s elite ranging from Tommy Hilfiger, Johnny Galacki, La Toya Jackson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kris Jenner, Rumer Willis, Constance Zimmer, and Avril Lavigne, the gala held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel included a fashion show by Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet, performances by Aloe Blacc and Flo Rida, and a massive silent auction.

Hilton & Hyland’s Chairman and Co-Founder, Rick Hilton, and wife Kathy Hilton, were not only in attendance, but a golf session at the Bel-Air Country Club with Mr. Hilton went for $3,225.

“It is our honor and joy to be a part of an evening about improving the future of so many bravely facing this autoimmune disease,” Mr. Hilton proudly stated.

Also up for bidding were boxing gloves autographed by Mike Tyson; five star hotel rooms on exotic Third World beaches and even yoga classes.

The Race is the creation of Nancy Davis, who said noted that the most gratifying part of it all is the progress that has since been made on the research of the central nervous system disease. “What’s so cool is last year there were 15 drugs that help stop the progression of MS,” said Davis. “Now there are 17. It can take 10 years to get these drugs approved. That’s how much research is going on.”

The proceeds from the gala will go towards research into the cause, treatment, and cure for multiple sclerosis.
