With Double-Ended Deal, Hilton & Hyland Closes on Castle Place

In the 400 block of Castle Place, a Midcentury Modern-style home designed by architect Robert Skinner has been sold. Branden and Rayni Williams were the listing agents. Rona Passman, also of Hilton & Hyland, represented the buyer.

“One of Williams & Williams’s favorite homes ever in Trousdale estates, this home is the quintessential California modern of a Robert Skinner AIA original. One of only a handful of two-story homes in Trousdale Estates,” listing agents Braden and Rayni Williams said in announcing the close.  “The green beautiful lushness of the landscaping framed by Steelcase windows and its ultra-high ceilings in the living room coupled with a dramatic entryway make this property an art collector or architectural purest dream. It was an absolute honor to represent this home.”

Built in 1962, the gated home in the Trousdale area features raised ceilings, floor-to-ceiling walls of glass and a two-sided wall fireplace shared between formal and lofted living rooms.

A formal dining room, a center-island kitchen, an office, five bedrooms and six bathrooms are also within about 8,500 square feet of space.

A step-down pavilion with a swimming pool and spa and an outdoor fireplace highlight grounds of about an acre.
